Gordon Ramsay’s stepfather sentenced to six months in prison for email hacking
Chris Hutcheson, along with his sons Adam Hutcheson and Chris Hutcheson Jr, had planned to infiltrate the restaurateur’s emails between October 23, 2010 and March 31, 2011 to uncover financial details and other information. Her sons were both sentenced to four months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence.
Jailing Hutcheson Sr at the Old Bailey, Judge John Bevan QC said: “The whole five month episode amounts to an unappealing and uninspiring example of dirty laundry being washed in public.”
Hutcheson Sr, who is the father of Ramsay’s wife Tana, has been involved in a high-level public falling out with the TV chief. In 2010, he was fired from Gordon Ramsay Holdings after 12 years with the restaurant group, with a public argument between Ramsay and Hutcheson Sr.
In 2012, Gordon Ramsay Holdings (GRH) reached a settlement with Hutcheson Sr and three other members of his family over an allegation that they had been unfairly dismissed from the company, thus ending a dispute over two years. Hutcheson Sr claimed he was kicked out of the company and subjected to a “public hanging” by Ramsay who responded by writing an open letter to his stepmother Greta via the Evening Standard, where he blamed his beau -father of being “manipulative and controlling”.
